Nilagang baka is another simple filipino dish. This beef soup is a favorite of many Filipinos because of its simplicity and rich taste. Nilagang baka is prepared in many ways so don’t be surprised if my recipe is different from the other websites you have visited.
The nilagang baka recipe I’m a featuring in this page is my own version. It is a recipe that I have learned from my mom who makes a good beef soup. This is an easy to cook this dish so I won’t make things complicated. By the way, nilagang baka maybe an easy to cook dish but you will need to be patient to make the soup tastier.
The secret to a tasty and flavorful nilagang baka is timing. The longer you boil or simmer the meat to make it tender, the better. Take note, boiling or simmering the meat brings out the flavor and make it tasty.
My nilagang baka recipe makes use of both cabbage and pechay as I want more green in my soup. I also added saba (banana) to give the soup a sweet taste. And since I have corn, I decided to throw a few pieces into the pot as well just added color. Here’s my nilagang baka recipe, enjoy cooking!
