Goan Crab Curry – Crab Curry or Crab Masala
Our today’s recipe Goan Crab Curry is a delicious seafood dish made with spices and coconut gravey. I know it’s little bit difficult to clean and break the shell while eating, but the taste of this curry gives great result for your effort. You can serve this dish with rice or other items like chapathi, roti, or appams. Ingredients for Making Goan Crab Curry :
For making masala
Black pepper – one teaspoon
Fennel seeds – one teaspoon
Cinnamon stick – one piece
Star anise – one piece
Cardamom – two
Cloves – for to five
Javitri – one piece
Coconut – half cup
Dried red chilly – three to four
Other ingredients
Crab – half kilogram
Onion chopped – one big
Garlic crushed – one teaspoon
Ginger crushed – one teaspoon
Chilly powder – one teaspoon
Termeric powder – one teaspoon
Garam masala – half teaspoon
Tomato chopped – one big
Oil – three tablespoon
Salt – to taste
Coriander leaves -for garnishing
Method of making
First wash the crab very well and cut it into pieces. You can also use small crabs,here I took one big crab for making this curry
Heat a pan and dry roast all spices which given under the list of masala.
Dry fry the coconut and red chilies on a medium flame till coconut turn into brown, let this cool off for sometime.
When it cooled, grind the coconut with all spices which we dry roasted earlier add little water while grinding make a smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan, add onion and saute it. When the onions become brown add crushed garlic and ginger , then saute it for few minutes.
Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala into the pan stir it for few minutes on a low flame.
Now put the chopped tomatoes and mix it well. Cook it until the oil gets separate.
Pour the grainted coconut masala paste and pour water as consistency of the gravey required.
Put crabs into this gravey and add enough salt.
Let the gravey boil for twelve to fifteen minutes on a low flame. When the Crab Curry cooked is cooked enough add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the heat.
Goan Crab Curry is ready to serve, transfer it into a serving bowl. This Crab Curry or Crab Masala tastes great with rice, chapathi, appams, and bread. Enjoy the sweet yummy taste. Thanku.
