Idli Dhokla recipe / Simple breakfast recipe
Dhokla is a vegetarian food item; it originates in Indian state of Gujarat. It’s commonly used as breakfast or as a snack, made with bassen / chickipeas flour. There are different kinds of dhoklas prepared with different ingredients. Some of the popular dhoklas are, Meetha dhokla, toor daal dhikla, rice dhokla rawa dhokla bassen dhokla etc.it usually served with chutney that made from coriander or coconut. Its very easy to make and easy to digest.

Ingredients for making idli dhokla
- Bassen flour ½ cup
- Sugar 2 table spoon
- Vinegar 1/2 teaspoon
- Ginger garlic paste ½ teaspoon
- Eno salt 1 teaspoon
- Water 3 table spoon + 1 teaspoon
- Salt ½ teaspoon
Method of preparation.
In a bowl add bassen flour, sugar, ginger garlic paste, salt and mix it well. Add water, vinegar little by little in it, make a thick batter.
Keep the batter aside for 10 minutes.
After 30 minutes add eno salt, water in to the batter and mix it well.
Grease an idili mold with oil; pour the batter half level in to the mold.
Cook it in a steamer for 10 minutes in medium flame.
Check it using a tooth pick, once its done remove it from the steamer and keep it aside to cool.
Then remold it in to a serving plate.
Heat oil in a small frying pan, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter then add curry leaves and fry it. You can also add green chili.
Pour it in to the idli dhokla. Serve it with chutney.
