Ingredients for making idichakka thoran
- Idichakka half piece
- Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
- Water 1/3 cup
- Urad daal 2 table spoon
- Curry leaves 1 spring
- Dry red chili 2 no.s
- Grated coconut ¼ cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil 1 table spoon
Remove the outer skin of the jackfruit and cut in to very small pieces.
Put in a pressure cooker, add turmeric powder, salt and 1/3 cup water. Close the lid and wait for 2 whistles in high flame. No need to add more water.
After the whistle settles open the lid and keep it aside to cool.
Heat two table spoon oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad daal and saute untill its golden brown in color.
Add curry leaves and dry red chili fry for seconds.
Add cooked idichakka and mix it well. You can check the salt.
Add 3 table spoon grated coconut and combine well.
