Today I am Sharing Kerala Tea Snack Sukhiyan. It is deep oil fried traditional kerala Tea Snack
Made From Green grams,Coconut and Jaggery Filling . This is highly Nutrition food because the
Green gram is a rich source of low fat protein and fiber on cup of mature , boiled Greengrams( Cherupayar)
Countains around 14gm of protein and 15gm of fiber. It’s Very tasty healthy and yummy
Sukhiyan important evening tea snack. It is kerala Sweet tea Snack recipe. deep oil fry recipe.
This is sweet as have used lots of Green grams( cherupayar) and the tea snack should be fine.
So Please try it very easy tea snack. Let’s make step by step Sweet Sukhiyan recipe.
Ingredients –
Green grams – 1 cup
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
Wheat Flour – 3/4 cup
Rice Flour – 1/4cup
Water – 1/2 cup
Oil ; For deep frying
Salt; a pinch
How to Sukhiyan Preparation
Pressure cook the Green grams with a pinch of salt by adding around 2 cups of water. Drain the water and keep it aside.
Add jaggery Mix well
Add the grated coconut, mix well.
Add the cardamom powder and the green grams to the pan
Saute it well for a couple of minutes and then remove from the stove
Make small lemon size balls with the cooked mixture.
In a bowl, make a medium thick batter with Wheat Flour,Rice flour with a pinch of salt and water.
Heat oil in a pan. When it becomes hot, dip each of the green gram balls in the batter, coating it uniformly, and then gently transfer into the hot oil and deep fry till it become yellowish with a crispy texture.
Transfer in to a Serving plate and Garnish Raspberry,Blackberry or Pomegranate Serve hot.
