Fried chicken, steak and burger are best paired with gravy. KFC chicken is just an ordinary fried chicken without its tasty gravy. A mashed potato is not good without gravy in my opinion, just like Jollibee’s burger steak. In other words, gravy brings out the food delicious taste. This is the reason I have to learn how to make gravy to make my fried chicken even more delicious.
In the Philippines, KFC offers the best gravy. Many pinoy’s would get a bowl of gravy to eat one piece of chicken. The gravy’s are poured over the rice and not just over the chicken because of its rich and savory taste. I’m one of the million pinoy’s who loves KFC gravy. Unfortunately, I still haven’t discovered how to make KFC style gravy. I have searched online for KFC gravy recipe but didn’t find a recipe that makes KFC gravy the best. So, I have to be contented with my own gravy recipe.
My gravy recipe is simple and easy to make. This gravy is also good and great for fried chicken, steak and burgers. Here’s my gravy recipe that I have also used to make Jollibee’s famous burger steak.
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 5 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 piece beef cube
- 1 piece chicken cube
- 2 1/4 cup water
Dilute the chicken and beef cubes in water. Set aside. Next, in a medium size saucepan, heat butter over low heat.
Add 2 tablespoons of flour and stir continuously for about 7 minutes or until the mixture turns a bit brown. Add the rest of the flour and stir.
Next, gradually pour the diluted chicken and beef broth and stir continuously. Continue stirring to prevent lumps from forming.
Turn up the heat to medium and bring the mixture to a boil.
Cook for about 3 minutes while stirring once in a while to thicken the sauce. Once thickened, remove from the saucepan from the heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Serve hot with mashed potato, fried chicken or pour over burger steak.
