Lal Bhaji/ Red Spinach Recipe

Today I am sharing Lal Bhaji recipe. It’s also known as Lal math and red spinach. Lal bhaji has two types one which is fully red including leaves and branches and second has red branches with green leaves. I am using second one; however recipe of both are same. Well In Chhattisgarh we usually eat leafy vegetable. most of the people like it because of its tempting red color, beside the colors it is a very good source of calcium, iron, vitamin A and vitamin C.  It’s very healthy everyone should eat it. very easy and less time taking recipe. Lets begin,

Ingredients:

  • Lal Bhaji – 1/2 Kg
  • Chana dal- 1/2 cup, Soaked in water for 10-15 minutes
  • Garlic- 6 cloves, chopped
  • Dry Rred Chili Flakes- 3 nos, torn
  • Salt- to taste

How to make Lal Bhaji

  • Pluck leaves from branches. wash it thrice and keep it aside. Now take a deep pan, heat oil add garlic, let it fry till dark brown color.

  • Now add dry chili flakes and fry it.

  • Add Lal bhaji mix them well and cook it for few minutes.

  • Add Chana Dal and salt mix them well, let it cook.

  • you can see some red water on deep pan, let it became dry

And it’s ready to serve. Have it with chapati, rice. it goes well with both.
