Chicken curry in badam gravy / Badhami chicken is a rich and healthy curry.  This curry is the best combination with chapathi. Badami chicken curry is not too spicy; my kid likes this curry very much.

Ingredients for making Chicken curry in badam gravy / Badhami chicken

  1. Chicken 250 gm
  2. Badaam 10 numbers soaked
  3. Grated coconut 2 table spoon
  4. Onion 1 small size
  5. Green chili 1
  6. Curry leaves 2 springs
  7. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Red chili powder ¾ tablespoon
  9. Pepper powder ½ table spoon
  10. Tomato juice ½ cup
  11. Coriander leaves chopped (optional)
  12. Water 1 ½ cup
  13. Oil 2 table spoon
  14. Salt

Method

In a blender add soaked and peeled badam and grated coconut, then make a fine paste by adding little water.

Heat oil in a pan fry curry leaves, green chili, and onions. Sauté till the onions turns transparent.

Add spices like, turmeric powder, red chili powder and pepper powder, saute till the raw small away from the masala.

Now add tomato puree and cook till it’s looses oil.

Add chicken pieces and combine well.

Pour the badam paste in it. Mix it well and add 1 ½ cup.

Add salt to taste and water, allow it to boil. Once it starts boiling cover it with a lid and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes in low flame.

Once the chicken cooked well, sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves.
