I love Chicken Adobo. I like the tender and juicy chicken in that beautifully thick sauce. If I were to choose the only dish I would eat for the rest of my life, I will pick Chicken Adobo. I love eating it with heaps and heaps of rice. Chicken Adobo has greatly contributed to my collection of flabs in my body. Beware, guys! Chicken Adobo can make rice disappear quickly—especially if it is accompanied with a cold soda!

Another reason why I love Chicken Adobo Recipe is that the recipe is very straightforward! It was actually one of the first few dishes my mother taught me. It’s practically beginner/idiot-proof! You don’t need to be a chef to whip up this amazing chicken dish!

Chicken Adobo Recipe

Ingredients: Chicken Adobo Recipe

  • 900 grams of chicken, cut into different parts
  • Salt and black peppercorns
  • A few dried bay leaves
  • 2 ½ teaspoon white sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup cooking oil
  • 1/8 cup vinegar
  • 1 pint water
  • 3 crushed garlic loaves

How to Cook Chicken Adobo

  1. Soak the chicken in a marinade of soy sauce and crushed garlic for at least 3 hours.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a pan.
  3. Cook the chicken in the oil for five minutes.
  4. Add water and pour in the remaining marinade. Wait until it boils.
  5. Add bay leaves and peppercorns.
  6. Simmer until the chicken is soft and tender.
  7. Add vinegar and cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Add the sugar and salt. Stir it and after a few minutes, turn off the flame.
  9. Serve and enjoy.
